Overview
Introducing Nitro 625. The One. The Only. The Nitro.
The best ski we have ever paddled just got better. Introducing the new Nitro 625. If you're a highly experienced paddler chasing maximum speed and you want a ski that performs at the absolute pinnacle of what's possible on water, you've just found it. You're welcome.
On flat water, the Nitro is as fast as a K1 — and for plenty of paddlers, it's actually faster. But flat water is really just where the Nitro warms up. Out on the waves, this is where it truly comes alive. The downwind surfing properties are exceptional — the Nitro connects to waves with an almost uncanny ability to climb, link, and ride runs that lesser skis would simply miss. It doesn't just surf well; it surfs brilliantly.
The magic lies in the details. The carefully considered volume distribution, the precise cockpit positioning, and the optimised distance to the rudder all work together to produce a ski that is seriously agile — responsive in a way that rewards skilled paddlers, and remarkably controllable even when the waves are breaking and conditions are properly lively. This is a ski that doesn't flinch.
Now, the new Nitro 625 comes with a longer, sharper and faster hull and higher rocker for more responsive surfing. All while keeping the same speed promised to you in the 600. With Nordic Kayaks' latest cockpit — you will stay drier with a new wave deflector and enjoy total freedom of movement. The boat offers exceptional seat comfort for hours of paddling. The side cutouts are precision-designed for a perfect paddle catch, because at this level, every single stroke counts.
2025 Update: You asked for it — we delivered.
The Nitro has been sharpened, literally. Both models now carry a series of refinements built directly from paddler feedback:
- A higher rocker for quicker, more responsive handling when the ocean gets serious
- A redesigned nose, striking the perfect balance between wave-cutting efficiency and lift in surf
- A sharper front deck for cleaner water flow
- A more protected cockpit for a drier ride when you're punching through waves
- An updated deBrito/NK bailer for more efficient drainage and less leakage
- Integrated fixing inserts for our newly developed cockpit hood/deflector with watch holder — no more messy tape solutions
And the hull itself has been optimised to maintain the same blistering flatwater speed as the previous world-championship-winning model — because some things don't need fixing, only sharpening.
The Nitro comes in two sizes:
The Nitro 640 has a slightly wider seat and fits paddlers from approximately 165 cm to 200 cm and beyond. The Nitro 625 is new for 2025 — a longer, faster hull built for lighter paddlers up to 85 kg, with a snugger cockpit for those who want every last bit of connection to the boat. Both feature side cutouts precision-designed for a perfect paddle catch, because at this level, every single stroke counts.
Does it get any better than this? We've thought long and hard about it. It doesn't.
