Overview
Nordic Kayaks Nitro 640 — 2025 Edition The Best Just Got Better. Annoyingly So.
You asked for it. We listened. We then spent a considerable amount of time in the workshop obsessing over details that most people would never notice — but you will, the moment you're out on the water. The result is the new Nitro 640, and it's quite something.
Let's be clear: the previous Nitro 640 was a world-championship-winning ski. That's not a throwaway marketing line — it actually won at the highest level. So when we say we've improved it, we don't use that word lightly. The 2025 Nitro 640 takes everything that made its predecessor exceptional and sharpens it, refines it, and pushes it further.
The hull has been reengineered with a higher rocker for quicker, more responsive handling in ocean conditions — because when the sea is doing something interesting, you want a ski that reacts instantly, not one that needs convincing. The optimised hull shape ensures that flatwater speed hasn't been sacrificed in the process; this ski is every bit as fast on the flat as the model that won on the world stage. The redesigned nose strikes the perfect balance between cutting cleanly through waves and generating lift in surf — a genuinely tricky balance to nail, and we're quietly very pleased with how it turned out. The sharper front deck improves water flow, and the more protected cockpit means a noticeably drier ride when you're punching through waves at full tilt. Your lap will thank us.
On the practical side, the updated deBrito/NK bailer delivers more efficient drainage and reduced leakage — because a ski that sheds water faster is a ski that keeps moving faster. And finally, we've added integrated fixing inserts for our newly developed cockpit hood and deflector, complete with watch holder. No more bodging it together with tape. You know who you are.
The Nitro 640 fits paddlers from approximately 165 cm to 200 cm (5'5" to 6'7") and beyond.
The benchmark has been reset. Again.
