Nordic Kayaks Rapido: The Sweet Spot You Didn't Know You Were Looking For
Allow us to introduce the Rapido — the surfski that slotted itself neatly between the Storm and the Squall and immediately made itself at home. Think of it as the best of both worlds: the tight, responsive seat of the Nitro paired with a wider hull that keeps things pleasantly stable. It's the Goldilocks of the NK lineup — not too twitchy, not too wide, but just right.
The Rapido carries all the hallmarks you'd expect from a Nordic Kayaks surfski, but with a few ace cards up its sleeve. That notably narrow nose slices through waves with satisfying precision, while the added rocker makes the ski wonderfully maneuverable — responsive without being unpredictable. The seat is positioned slightly further forward than you might expect, and that's entirely intentional: it helps the Rapido catch even the most modest swells, letting you surf with an ease that'll make you look far more talented than you perhaps are. We won't tell anyone.
And because Nordic Kayaks knows that the end of a hard race or a big downwind run is exactly when you least want to be wrestling with a slippery ski, the Rapido comes with built-in carbon carry handles — a genuinely rare feature on a model this narrow, and one that will earn its keep every single time you haul yourself, exhausted and dripping, back up the beach.
The Rapido fits paddlers between 155 cm and 195 cm (5'1" to 6'5") in height, with a maximum paddler weight of approximately 95 kg (209 lbs).
