Nelo K1 Sete: They Improved a Winning Boat. Somehow.
Taking a boat as accomplished as the Cinco and making it better is no small task. But that's exactly what Nelo did with the Sete — keeping everything that made the Cinco brilliant while quietly, methodically improving the bits that could be even better. The result is a K1 that feels faster, more composed, and more efficient from the very first stroke.
The new design stays closer to optimum trim for longer and reduces both pitch and heading amplitude — meaning the Sete runs cleaner, truer, and more predictably through whatever conditions you throw at it. As an added bonus, the new shape also contributes directly to the structural rigidity of the hull. Good design doing two jobs at once — we appreciate the efficiency.
Speaking of rigidity, the Sete's layup has been significantly upgraded. Unidirectional carbon acts as a structural reinforcement net throughout the hull, and a 100% carbon reinforced rim adds further stiffness where it counts. The result is a boat that feels solid, connected, and responsive in a way that inspires genuine confidence.
On the water, the Sete matches the Cinco's top speed — but that's only part of the story. The real improvement lies in the speed loss curve: the Sete sustains its top speed for longer, making it a more efficient and ultimately faster boat over the course of a race or long training session. Less heading movement and improved stability mean more powerful, cleaner strokes and a smoother, more satisfying glide. Fast, and fast for longer. A very good combination.
The Sete is available in S, M, ML, L, XXL, and XXXL — covering paddlers from 55 kg (121 lbs) all the way to over 100 kg (220 lbs). A wider range than ever before, because fast kayaking shouldn't have a weight limit.
And the fittings have had a thorough overhaul too. A new steering system, a new 100% carbon rudder blade with an improved shape, a new T-bar with easy length adjustment, and new cable ties all come together to deliver a smoother, more precise, and more reliable steering solution. The details matter, and the Sete sweats them.
